“we love tulsa”

tulsa:

i just want to make sure you all understand the importance of me finally being in tulsa.  it’s a teenage dream i had and for a while i thought it would never be realized until this road trip came into view.  the town that hanson is from!  the band of my youth who i professed my love for at any opportunity, especially in the presence of backstreet boys fans.  i admit my fandom may have fallen to the wayside in recent years, but there is still a piece of me that dearly holds onto that experience.

everywhere i walked, a “they could have been here, too!!” feeling shot through me.  however, being in my, ahem, mid-twenties, now, and not fourteen and wearing a tweetie-bird t-shirt, i kept my composure.  but still managed to take pictures of as many things with “tulsa” on it as possible without being considered looney.  i was surprised at it being a “real” city, there was a lot more going on than i originally would have given credit for.  tulsa seemed….cool.

katie, this is for you.

I JUST love you. I feel like I was there, too.

ALSO, reading this post reminded me of the time that your mom took us into the lobby of Mercury Records to ask if there were any Hansons afoot. Dear Monteleone women, you are the coolest, let’s get a drink soon so I can tell you that in person.

In conclusion, my favorite thing about this post is that I remember exactly what Tweety Bird shirt you are talking about.
